International students eligible for London underground student rates?

Hi~ I am a US student going to study in London for 3-4 weeks over winter break and was wondering if I am eligible (since I am a student and I have an international student id card) to pay the reduced student rates for the London travelcards? Thanks!

International students eligible for London underground student rates?
From the Tfl website:

"Students attending universities, colleges and schools who are registered on TfL's Student Oyster photocard scheme can apply for an 18+ Student Oyster photocard."

I suspect that you have to be studying at a college in the UK.
Reply:Full-time students are entitled to 30% discounts on travelling.

You will need to ask for an application from a tube station and get it stamped by your uni or college and send it across with a small processing fee. You will get the student discount card with your photo in a few days. International student cards will not be accepted by the London Underground, or for that matter any place.
