Ideas for student council speech?

okay so im in 8th grade and i have been in student council for 2 years now. this year, the teacher who runs student council decided that you have to run again to be in student council. i have a lot of compition in my class, and im the quiet girl...so im friends with everyone, but not really close friends, whereas my canidates are. the only way to really get into student council is to have the highest number of votes. i really want to wow my classmates with my speech. i want to have really good ideas to get those votes.





HELP PLEASEE?!? this is really important for me to get into student council.

Your speech should be about responsibility. It's very important for young people to start preparing for the future because jobs are going to be limited and technology and medicine will be fields in demand. Talk about self respect and constant self improvement because it makes you feel good when you know that you're progressing and others will notice the maturity in you too. It's o'kay to be a kid but there's a time and place for being childish. Tell a story about a good relationship between you and someone close to you that you thought was funny or changed something about you. Come up with a memorable phrase like "A good friend is hard to find so cherish those things that are important to you"

Reply:no offense but i doubt a serious speech will get you anywhere.Your speech has to be humorous,you've got to make them laugh,you've got to make them think you are fun.but you will lose votes from those who seriously wanted to vote for someone to lead them.but does it even matter,how many serious people are there amongst all those jokers.believe me theres more jokers out there and they wont care/probably sleep during your speech.unless u can struck a cord with them

I tout your 2 years of experience. Point out that there have been no big scandals or disasters during your terms of office. Express regret that unlike adult politicians you can to provide pork/"ear marks" to the students. Then express hope that you will still be able to buy the votes. At this point you and a couple of well placed supporters should pelt the audience with Tootsie rolls and small candies. (note: high arcing thows with the candy, since you want them to catch them)





People will remember it. You will get great gossip/rumor and many undecided votes. You will be reprimanded by teachers/administrators, but you will likely win, since your opponents will not be able to imitate or top that stunt, since the officials will clamp down on that type of behavior after you have done it.
