Student Loans... Errr Grants....?

Does anyone else think it is fair that they had to take a student loan to pay for their education, and now grants have been re-introduced?

This will obviously not affect many people reading this, I was the first year to have to pay tuition fees and take out a student loan, so we are looking at seven academic years. However, my 0% interest loan has crept up to around 2%, costing me £20 a month. I don't earn 15K so am not paying it off yet, so every week I owe more. How is it fair that now students are ellagable to get the same money as me, but for free?

I May just be grumpy, but in a market that is saturated with similarly qualified employees I'm sure I have the righth to be!! Lol!

Just hope its not just me that feels this way....

You don't know that you would qualify for grants if you were just now going to school.

My student loan didn't start accruing interest until I was done with school.

In my opinion, there is no reason to get upset for something that you didn't have an option for.
Reply:That's life. Policies change, get over it. There is nothing you can do about it, so stop complaining.

And your interest is only 2%? Ha, try being in the US where the interest is 6.8% on government student loans. Thankfully that is changing to 3% for us in the next two years!

Seems like you still have quite a bit of growing up to do.
Reply:Nope, it annoys the ar** off me too. We all did what we were told to do at 17 and that did not include getting a credit card and being declared bankrupt - which is a pretty dumbass thing to do if you ask me.

I don't see why we should have to pay when people whose parents earn up to £60,000 (which mine certainly didn't) get it all for free.

No, you're not grumpy at all - just right!
Reply:see if this helps
Reply:Unfortunately they don't do degree's in common sense what you should have done is use the loans credit cards and any other credit had a year out at the end and declare yourself bankrupt then you wouldn't be paying anything have a nice day
