Help on student council speech?

I am in seventh grade and i would LOVE to be part of the student council if you have ideas please help. here is my speech.

My name is (my name) and I am here because I am running for student council. You may be wondering, “Why should I vote for her?” Well, coming from a family with four children I know what it takes to get a point across. Also I care for this school and the faculty and students. I will get stuff done and address and problems. I WILL MAKE the school a better place.

If I am elected to be on your student council I will do defiantly do everything I can to help the students and facualty of Saint Pius. I am not afraid to speak my mind. I can’t promise anything but I will be open for ideas so I can help this school. I am, responsible, and hardworking person. Now isn’t that someone an organized you would like to be YOUR president?

Help on student council speech?
"My name is ___ and I'm asking for your vote for Student Council. You're probably asking yourself, "Why should I vote for her?" Well, to answer your question, you should vote for me because I care about our school. I will make this school a better place and I will get things done. If elected as part of your Student Council, I will do everything I can to help the students and faculty of ___. I can't promise you much but I will promise you this: I will be open to any ides or suggestions you have to make our school better. So when we vote, check __ for your Student Council President."
Reply:You need to present a vision for your term. What can you do for your school. You did a good job presenting who you are and waht you are capable of. But you need to be more specific. Tell your classmates what kind of fundraiser you are planning, or what kind of charity drive you can host.
Reply:Rather than rattle on about yourself, it would be better to talk about your motivation for wanting to be on the council. What problems do you see that needs to be addressed. What type of programs can your school initiate to help the students achieve their goals.

In your speech, you are presenting yourself as being reactive and not proactive, as a good leader should be.
Reply:No!

because by publicly asking this question you are proving that you are unsure of yourself!

and the public needs someone who is sure of themself!

:-(

Good luck though
Reply:Be specific and give examples when you make a claim.
Reply:Bravo. I think your speech is well done. I would, however, re-read a few areas and correct a few spelling errors in case you have to turn in your speech to Student Council Sponsors. But I think you have a good bones speech. Well done.

And good luck in your campaign!
