Getting a student loans for and older student?

When I go back to college I will be 33 years old. Will I still be able to get a student loan? Can I get a student loan if I am a part time student? What can I use the student loan for?

Getting a student loans for and older student?
Student loans are for -- amazing but true -- school expenses. They are to be paid back or they would be called gifts. You aren't really on the hook for repaying until you stop studying (whether or not you've finished the program), and they do offer very manageable terms. Don't allow yourself to think that you can renege on these loans -- they cost everyone and they will come after you, impacting on your creditworthiness for years to come.
Reply:congrats on going back to school

have you look into financial aid besides loans. they all kinds of loans for returning students, including scholarship. it's good finding information as soon as possible, because some school will screw you up instead of helping you. i got into that mess when i transfer to another school. make sure you get everything everything done early.

Reply:You can get student loans even if you're older than the normal student. In your case, having already taken classes may have lowered the amount of loan money available to you.You can check with the financial aid office of the previously attended college for both the amount you've used and what if any amounts are still available.Loans have attendance requirements.Part time is considered 3 credits at the undergrad and grad levels,half-time is 6 at undergrad ,3/4 time is 9 at undergrad, and full time is 12 or more at the undergrad level and 9 at the grad level. You can use the loan money for both DIRECT (tuition, fees, and books),and INDIRECT(copying services, parking passes, etc) costs. The only way you could not get a loan is if you've become a convicted felon or you've defaulted on a student loan.
