Student loans?

Here is my problem:

I have no credit, have never worked, and do not have a co-signer.

I heard about pre-prime student loans. I applied for one and did not qualify, I don't know why. They say they take into consideration the student's gpa (mine is 3.04 and my major is chemistry-health professions )

I already have stafford loans and pell grant and don't qualify for parent plus and for a private loan.

Are there any other prime student loans or other loans, which I could qualify for?

Thank you very much and happy holidays

Student loans?
I think I just answered this question but in a different forum. Anyways...

You already have Pell grant and Stafford. Is Stafford subsidized or unsubsidized. If you have one attempt to get the other. What you have now are federal aids, you need to look into local. I am a student at WSU and Washington gives me the Need Grant as well as the SEOG grant. Both of which are for low-income students. Also look into medicare or food stamps as you won't have to dip into your financial aid for food or times when you are ill.

I currently have Staffords (unsubsidized), Grants (Washington, Pell, and SEOG), work study (make about $2-$6 more then minimum wage), and 2 jobs, so I am usually set for the school year. Also medicare helps and food stamps (we were issued a debit card and the government just loads it up with about $150 every month).

Reply:i get a unsubsidized loan because i was also denied the parent plus loan the only thing is that they charge u intrest the entire time unlike the subsidized loan were they dont start charging intrest intill after u graduate but its great if ur in a tough bind i recieve 4,000 extra a school year
Reply:How about a loan through your parents. You will have to begin making payments within 60 days, but the rate should be less than an unsecured student loan throught the usual "loan sharks" Salle Mae, etc.
Reply:Be sure you are getting the max amount of Stafford loans from your school. Then, if you are getting Pell and Stafford and still can't pay your tuition books and fees, than I'd suggest Work Study and then perhaps another part time job.

If you are unwilling or unable to do this then you need to find a cheaper school. Most schools can be paid for well under the max loan amounts. Federal Loan amounts have max for a reason and private loans are not a very good alternative.

Good Luck.
Reply:Just ask your parent(s) to get a loan for you. Tell him/her/them you return the money.
