Hello everyone, my question is my wife has student loans on her credit report from equifax. The problem is she never took out student loans since she got a grant for school. Also on this credit report there is a student loan that is paid off from 2005 when she was still in High School. Anyone have a similiar problem that they have solved or no what to do about it? We are trying to purchase a home and this is keeping us from getting a decent interest rate. Thanks for any help!

This happened to my cousin, you have to report fraudelent activity on your credit report. Start by disputing it, she can go online. They will investigate.
Reply:Read the dispute resolution section of your credit report and tell them you suspect an error.
