Professor harrased student?

We were taking a test in my college algebra class and one of the students asked the professor for help. The professor told the student to go to his desk and she asked him about some problem... He kept embarassing her in front of the class by saying things like "You don't remember!" "That's too easy and you don't know it!" and the rest of the students were laughing with the professor... the student seemed very irritated and then the professor asked her out loud "You don't remember the problems because you smoked a joint before coming to class??" and the student started crying and the professor tried to make it up by telling her that she was a good student and it was a joke...but she left crying and then we all left the classroom too. What's going to happen to him if somebody reports him?

Professor harrased student?
He'll get a wake up call that his behaviour is unacceptable. If he is allowed to get away with this and pass it off as a 'joke' he'll do it again, and you might bear the brunt of his next little giggle.

Report him. And to make it more emphatic, get as many people as possible from that class to join with you in reporting him.
Reply:he's probably going to get sued by the student, if she is angry enough. but i don't think he's going to get fired. i had a teacher in middle school who does that to students too, but i don't think he ever made anyone cry.
Reply:Report that professor. What he did was totally unprofessional and definitely grounds for being fired. The best way to get the word out is to tell the school newspaper or local newspapers in addition to the school. Nothing gets a school to act faster than bad publicity...
Reply:He probably has a no-firing clause in his contract, so he'll get to stay for at least another year.

But, he'll probably just get a warning.
Reply:If he has tenure nothing will happen to him.

I had a college professor who regularly came to class tipsy and often times cussed out the students. He was a brilliant man but no one could touch his offensive behavior. He often told someone threatening to report him to "go ahead".
Reply:REPORT THAT PROFESSOR TO THE DEAN. THE PROFESSOR HAS NO RIGHT TO TREAT A STUDENT IN SUCH A MANNOR.
