Which student would make it into the college?

hypohtetical situation: two students, student A and B. a college is considering which of these students to take. the students are sophmores in highschool. they can only choose one which would the choose? here are the two students classes, grades, and after school activities. assume that they do the same amount of charity work

Student A

Math (honors algebra II)---A

Science (academic chem)----A

Ap History------B+

Business------A

Gym----A

Honors English------A-

Student B

Ap chemistry -----B

Ap stat----B

AP history-------B

who would get into the school? In GPA, honors classes are weighted more then academic, but the same as AP. but, AP is harder then honors. both have gpa's that will get them into Natiional Honors Society, but student A's gpa is higher.

Which student would make it into the college?
Anyone can get into college as long as they graduate from high school (and in some circumstances, even if they don't).

Besides, college admission is based on the whole 4 years of high school and the ACT or SAT. Not just the sophmore year.

Both students will get in college if they so desire. Isn't America great!
Reply:Student B is taking a higher level course load and might be a preferred candidate despite having slightly lower grades.
Reply:In this situation, they would probably look at other factors. Like if any of them has done community service, won any awards for something, overcoming some kind of diversity that they may have mentioned in their personal statement, etc. Either student would probably be good for the university. They appear to be working hard. Why are you asking? Are you and your best friend both trying to get into the same Ivy league school or something? It's not always wise to compete with your friends or you might no longer be friends, however, hopefuly it will push you to do good things like community projects and charity work to build your college resume and help others too.
Reply:It all depends on the college, personally, I think they both look like strong applicants.. I personally would think they are almost equal applicants and there is a good chance that (when applying to selective universities) A will be rejected from some B is accepted to and vice versa. If grades are kept like that from freshman-senior year there is a good chance both students will be accepted to a lot of colleges.
