Can the student aim for Doctor(M.B.B.S) or ENGINEERING even though she has no mathematics...? All the bio-chemistry students do not have mathematics there and i do not know about situations in other places. The student wants to go for Doctor. or an Engineer. Is it possible. Inside Tamilnadu . Any Genuine Suggessions/Help/Idea.......from experts Please and people from Tamil nadu(mostly welcome as they would be familiar with it). No there is no chance to study engineering as such

But he can opt to study medicine,it is worth studying it

But I would say that the decision should have been taken already

(I am from Ooty)
Reply:Normally a student opts for Bio-Chemistry, only if he/she plans to try for an M B B S [Medicine], a B Sc Ag [Agriculture], or a B V Sc [Veterinary Science] Degree.

Mathematics is not necessary for any of these courses.

...As of now, all chances of applying for an Engineering Course are blocked out.

If she insists on studying Engineering at all costs, the only alternative would be for her to appear privately again, for her 12th Standard exams - with Maths as her option ! This would involve the loss of at least 1 academic year, plus the costs of private tutions in a totally NEW subject with which she is totally unfamiliar.

...I learn that there is still a lot of confusion in Tamil Nadu - concerning whether or not to conduct Entrance Exams for Professional Degree Courses. The local daily newspapers would be your best source, for the latest developments.

...Private Medical Colleges like the Christian Medical College, Vellore, separately conduct their own Entrance Tests - which are of an objective type, but really tough. The relevant details can all be found in their Application Form itself.
