Student loans?

Here is my problem:

I have no credit, have never worked, and do not have a co-signer.

I heard about pre-prime student loans. I applied for one and did not qualify, I don't know why. They say they take into consideration the student's gpa (mine is 3.04 and my major is chemistry-health professions )

I already have stafford loans and pell grant but don't qualify for parent plus and private loans.

Are there any other prime student loans or other loans, which I could qualify for?

Thank you very much and happy holidays

Student loans?
I went to my bank that I'd recently opened up an account with and had a talk with them with the same problem you're having. Luckily they had a loan program for students going into college like me. I'm getting just enough money to help me cover my expenses and a few extra to help pay for gas and whatever else I need help with. Thanks to Key Bank I'm now in college and getting a degree. :) Try going to a local bank and talking to them.

Reply:Are you getting the maximum amount in Stafford? Are they both subsidized AND unsubsidized? You may want to look into getting both (or the other if you have one of them already). Depending on what state you live in, they offer assistance for student who are in the low-income category. I myself, get the Washington State Need Grant and SEOG Grant. Also look into Work-study. I assume you fill out the FAFSA if you are getting Stafford Loans? You can check the box to get Work-Study.

Other then that, look into scholarships within the chemistry and science department or of course, good old fashioned working (I work 2 jobs). Hope that helps!
